A juvenile detention officer in Fairfax County has been arrested on four felony sex offenses after an investigation conducted by the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.
Clifton Townsend, Jr., 60, of Leesburg, was taken into custody Monday night after the investigation determined he had sexual contact in Loudoun County with a juvenile. The alleged victim was not associated with Townsend’s work at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office was made aware of the alleged sex crimes on Saturday, August 17.
Townsend is charged with rape, carnal knowledge of a child, andtwo counts of sodomy. He was held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
