COLT, Newspapers Team Up for Supervisor Debates

The Coalition of Loudoun Towns, in conjunction with Loudoun Now and the Loudoun Times-Mirror, have announced plans to sponsor three separate debates for Board of Supervisors candidates in the Catoctin and Blue Ridge districts and the at-large county chairmanship. 

The debate schedule is:

Catoctin District:  Monday, Sept. 16 at the Lovettsville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company. Participating: James Forest Hayes (D), Caleb A. Kershner (R) and Samuel Kroiz (I)

Blue Ridge District: Thursday, Oct. 3 at the Bush Tabernacle in Purcellville.Participating: Tony R. Buffington (R) and Tia Walbridge (D)

Chairman At Large: Wednesday, Oct. 9 at the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center in Leesburg.Participating: Robert J. Ohneiser (I), Phyllis J. Randall (D) and John C. L. Whitbeck (R).

         Each debate will run from 7-8:30 p.m.

         In preparation for the debates, organizers are inviting voters to submit questions they would like the candidates from their district to answer. The mayors of each Loudoun Town, as well as editors from the Loudoun Times-Mirrorand Loudoun Now, will review submissions and recommended questions and topics to ask the candidates at the scheduled debates.
