Join food, art, and wine lovers Friday, Sept. 13, at a Live Fundraising Art Auction benefitting Loudoun Cares at the Village at Leesburg.
The gala will feature hors d’oeuvres and desserts from award-winning chefs, wine from Tarara Winery, and original artwork from Loudoun-based artists as well as 150 works provided by New York-based auction house Joseph Scott Galleries.
Registration for attendees and prospective purchasers will take place from 5–6:30 p.m., with the live auction beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Proceeds from ticket sales and locally donated art will benefit Loudoun Cares, a nonprofit serving Loudoun County residents through an information helpline and an online volunteer center. Through its telephone helpline, 703-669-INFO (4636), the organization provides information and assistance to residents in need of health and human services. The online Volunteer Center (volunteer.loudouncares.org/) is the county’s only central service to match
citizens and business volunteers with local nonprofits who are seeking volunteer support. The organization’s goal is to increase volunteerism in the county and to match those who serve with those in need.
“The Loudoun Cares Live Fundraising Art Auction offers residents a chance to gather together for a fun evening and view and bid on beautiful artwork while helping support our organization,” said Valerie Pisierra, executive director of Loudoun Cares. “This fundraising event will allow us to continue our programs that connect our community, support our nonprofits, and spotlight the needs of our neighbors living in Loudoun County.”
Local artists participating in the event include Jordan Xu, Laurien Dowdy, Anne Stine, Kathleen Howsare, Keith Patterson, Claire Courpron, and a special painting by a resident of Poet’s Walk, a memory care facility in Leesburg.
Tickets are $40 per person or $75 per couple. To purchase tickets, go toloudouncares.org.
