Loudoun United put together a solid performance Saturday night to win their first game at Segra Field and end a nearly month-long winless streak.
United got off to a 2-0 halftime lead over North Carolina FC on score by Carlos Alvarez at the 31stminute and by Antonio Bustamante minutes later off a free kick pass from Gordon Wild. Loudoun kept the pressure up early in the second half with goals by Kyle Murphy (his team-leading sixth of the season) and Elvis Amoh.
Loudoun County High School graduate Calle Brown was in goal to record his first shutout for the team.
The crowed size was reported at 1,551.
The win improved the team’s record to 6-12-3, with their 24 points ranking 14thin the USL Championship Eastern Conference. The team has a week off before traveling to Hartford Athletic on Saturday at 4 p.m.
