Loudoun United Drops Third Consecutive Match in PA

After taking a 2-1 lead, Loudoun United got tagged by four second-half goals and was handed a third consecutive loss by BethlehemSteel on Wednesday night in Chester, PA.

Gordon Wild got Loudoun off to a fast start, scoring his fifth goal of the season in the second minute of the match. AfterBethlehem tied the score, Wild recorded an assist onKyle Murphy’s goal that allowed the team to retake the lead just before halftime. That was Murphy’s ninth goal of the season, leading the team.

That was it for Loudoun’s scoring.

Bethlehem scored two quick goals, by Zachary Zandi and Issa Rayyan, to open the second half. Added a fourth score by Michee Ngalina at the 80thminute. Axel Picazo capped off the rout with a final goal in extra time.

            Loudoun United record is 6-15-6 and the team fell to 16th place in the USL Championship’s Eastern Conference. They next play at home on Wednesday, Sept. 25 against last place Swope Park Rangers, 4-16-7.
