The Virginia Restaurant, Lodging & Travel Association has named Leesburg’s Shocktober as its 2019 Travel Attraction of the Year.
VRLTA announced the achievement during its annual Ordinary Awards program, which recognizes operations that demonstrate exemplary passion for the hospitality and travel industry.
In its 10thyear, the elaborate haunted house at the Paxton Campus is the Arc of Loudoun’s largest annual fundraiser. The nonprofit provides multiple programs and services that together provide an integrated and innovative environment for children with disabilities and their families.
“Shocktober is extremely successful year after year due to the strong support we receive from our local and regional partners so this award is truly a Loudoun County/Northern Virginia win,” stated Arc of Loudoun CEO Lisa Kimball.“We’re already planning Shocktober 2020, and we welcome all members of the community to join us as we continue to advocate for, educate, serve and support people with disabilities and their families.”
