Ronald Lee Wynn, 1938-2019

Ronald Lee Wynn went to be with His Savior November 20, 2019 in the arms of his loved ones at his home in Harper’s Ferry, West Virginia.

Ron was born in Lynchburg, Virginia to Phil and Iris Wynn on November 8, 1938 and cherished his southwestern Virginia roots. He graduated from Graham High School, Bluefield, VA and VPI (Virginia Tech) where he was a member of the Corp of Cadets. He attended Rice University and then joined the staff of Crusade for Christ where he began the ministry on the campus of the University of Georgia. He then served in the Army at Fort Stewart, GA as a First Lieutenant.

He began his thirty-year career as an IT specialist at Univac and then transitioned to FEMA where he spent his remaining career.

Ron met and married his sweetheart, Betty Moss, of Johnson City, TN. They enjoyed a 49-year union until her death in 2012. They were deeply involved in King of King’s Worship Center, Purcellville, VA, where Ron served as an elder and associate pastor. Together, they found great joy in serving and sheltering others, leading Bible studies and financially supporting missionaries and orphans. He enjoyed coaching his sons in little league baseball and soccer.

Following Betty’s passing, Ron met Mary Ellen Tedrow. They have been blessed with a six-year marriage and have served in leadership at Fellowship Bible Church, Shenandoah Junction, WV.

Ron is preceded in death by his daughters Molly and Meg. He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen, brother Phil (Margi) of Hertford, NC, his daughter Amy Chamberlain (John) of Leesburg, VA, his son David (Teresa) of Owasso, OK, and his son Edward (Sintia) of Los Angeles, CA.; beloved grandchildren Joshua, Claire, Baleigh, Grant, Savannah and great grandchild Briar. All who knew Ron were blessed by his love of the Lord and his care for others.

A memorial service was held Saturday November 23, 2019 at Fellowship Bible Church. He was buried at Hillsboro Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the VE Deme Orphanage (checks should be made out to FBC with VE Deme Orphanage in the memo).
