An open house at Leesburg Executive Airport Sunday, Dec. 8 will include a special guest.
The event is intended to give area residents the opportunity to learn about the services and equipment used to operate the second busiest general aviation airport in the state. Staff members will be on hand to answer questions regarding the airport’s day-to-day tasks while representatives from each of the flight schools will be in attendance. Airport equipment will be on display including an airplane, snowplow, and fuel truck.
As a special surprise, Santa will fly in for a visit around 1 p.m. Families are invited to watch him arrive on the tarmac. Afterwards, for a donation of a non-perishable food item to Loudoun Hunger Relief, kids can sit on Santa’s lap and take photos.
During the open house, donations of new, unwrapped toys, appropriate for children ages newborn to 16 years, will be accepted for the Leesburg Toys for Tots campaign. The toys will be distributed solely within Loudoun County. Monetary donations may be given directly to the local branch of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation atloudoun-va.toysfortots.org.
The free event will be held at the Leesburg Executive Airport, located at 1001 Sycolin Road, from noon to 3 p.m. Food trucks will also be on site. For more information, call 703-737-7125.
