Dynasty Brewing Expands to Leesburg; Bike TrAle Owners Ride Off

Dynasty Brewing Company will open a second location in January, taking over the Bike TrAle Brewing space at the corner of Loudoun and Church streets in downtown Leesburg.

Greg Perlberg and Bruce Forbes launched Bike TrAle in 2017 with the goal of having fun while creating an eclectic variety of brews for area residents. In announcing plans to step away from the business, the partners said they achieved their goals of producing award-winning beer and building a profitable business. And it was mostly fun, but the work has become more demanding than they envisioned.

“Running a brewery is 5 percent about brewing beer and 95 percent business operations, with the 95 percent being a full-time effort. We have realized that we need to adjust our focus to families and careers,” Perlberg said in the announcement.

Dynasty was launched just over a year ago by Favio Garcia, one of the county’s most experienced brewers. He is among a handful of Loudoun brewers who learned the craft while working at Old Dominion Brewing, the defunct Ashburn operation that predated Virginia’s craft beverage explosion. He also was a co-founder of Lost Rhino Brewing before striking out on his own in 2018

Dynasty will start the transition with tap takeovers at Bike TrAle starting Dec. 13 and have its Leesburg operations up and running in January.

“We look forward to becoming part of the business community in Leesburg. We thank our friends at Bike TrAle for facilitating this incredible opportunity,”Dynasty owners said in the statement.
