Valley Kicker Continues Fundraising Drive for Childhood Cancer

In a continuing effort to raise funds and awareness for the fight against childhood cancer, Loudoun Valley High School Vikings kicker Nick Van Zandt dedicated his 2019 football season to kids with cancer as a Kick-It Champion.

He accepted donations for each field goal and extra point he scored throughout the season and will continue to accept donations until the end of 2019. All donations received will benefit childhood cancer research through Kick-It, powered by Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

Van Zandt was inspired by loved ones he has lost to cancer including neighbors, classmates and family.

So far, he’s raised about $4,200 during his two seasons on the team.

The Kick-It Champion program was started by All-State Ohio football player Matt Colella who battled cancer as a middle school student.
