As part of the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Loudoun County is opening a second location for residents and businesses to drop off donations of personal protective equipment (PPE) for distribution to Loudoun-based health care providers and facilities in need.
Donations may be dropped off at the Dulles South Recreation and Community Center, 24950 Riding Center Drive, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A tent will be placed in the front parking lot of the center with a sign identifying the PPE donation site.
This is in addition to the Leesburg drop-off location at 751 Miller Drive, which operates Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Blue signs on Miller Drive and in the parking lot will guide individuals to the drop-off location.
Both sites will accept surgical masks, disposable gowns, face shields, n95 respirators, enclosed goggles, coveralls, gloves, and hand sanitizer.
The greatest need currently is for surgical masks, disposable gowns and face shields.
Any donated supplies may be opened, but must be unused. The sites do not accept homemade equipment, such as masks.
