    Read some damn science.

May 21 New England Journal of Medicine, “We know that wearing a mask outside health care facilities offers little, if any, protection from infection….The chance of catching Covid-19 from a passing interaction in a public space is therefore minimal. In many cases, the desire for widespread masking is a reflexive reaction to anxiety over the pandemic.”

These near-worthless masks most people wear give them a false sense of protection and they get too close to one another. The recent spike in cases, to a degree, is likely because people falsely believe their mask is providing protection when it isn’t doing anything (unless they have a medical grade mask).

Further, because masks muffle your voice people need to “speak up” when wearing a mask. Recall the choir singers who rapidly spread the disease. People wearing low grade masks, therefore, expel greater amounts of air. This INCREASES the spread of the virus. These low grade masks aren’t helpful and, in fact, can be more dangerous when people don’t distance properly and speak more loudly.
