Sheriff’s Office Investigates Armed Carjacking in Sterling

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a reported carjacking that happened early Sunday morning at the Towncenter Plaza in Sterling. 

According to the report, the two male victims reported they were in the parking lot of the shopping center around 1:30 a.m. April 18, when several suspects exited a dark-colored SUV. Onebrandished a firearm and demanded the personal belongings from the adult male victim. The second victim, a juvenile, was assaulted by the suspects. The suspects then took the victim’s vehicle, a silver 2011 Honda Civic, and fled the area. The juvenile victim received minor injuries and declined medical treatment at the scene.

The robbery did not appear to be random, according to the agency.

Sheriff’s Office detectives are working to identify all of the suspects involved in the robbery and are asking any witnesses to contact Detective T. Rodriguez at 703-777-1021. You may also submit a tip through the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office app.
